Goodbye, Bangkok!

Day 4 – 29th September 2009, Tuesday

Since we walked so much and woke up very early the past few days, today we decided to take our own sweet time at the end of our stay. We had a leisurely breakfast as we were waiting for our free shuttle to MBK at 10.30 am.

Every day, we were also given complimentary 30 minutes free to use the internet. The girls spent time to check on their facebook – harvesting and planting. Geez. I can never comprehend why would people want to play such games on facebook! After 10 cabbages and a few chickens were stolen, we went to MBK for some look see.

Of course when you go to MBK, there is no such thing as look see only. Haha! We ended buying lots of stuff ranging from bags to toiletries (Boots! Buy one free one!) and t-shirts to hair accessories. There is pretty much everything for everybody.

We walked about and then, walked out from MBK to have a stroll along some lanes. Here are some of the street pictures I took.

Siu Keong on the loose!

We got back to the hotel at 2 pm. We have asked for extension to check out till 2 pm the day before. However, once we got into the hotel, we couldn’t open our door. Lil went downstairs to enquire. Apparently, the front desk girl yesterday who said, it’s ok to extend did not communicate the same to the front desk on duty that day. So, she asked us to pay 300 baht but after some negotiation, then we were all okay. I am not sure if they credited the 300 baht to her credit card but then, it’s ok even if they do. Not much anyway. We have been very generous tippers in fact. We tipped almost everybody and asked cab drivers to keep the change! Heck! We even wanted to pay the tuk tuk driver who took us to go round and round merry-go-round 100 baht. Hehe! Like foo poh like that. LOL!

It was a pleasant and fruitful trip. I somehow regret I didn’t splurge as much as I would like to! The next time I go to Bangkok, I would leave the camera behind and concentrate solely on shopping!!

And whoever who loves clothes, bring more $$ and shop at Platinum for ‘wholesale’ prices.. you’ll never shop in KL again after that.. ;)

  7. Gina Says:

hcpen: Well, the air fare is relatively cheap now!

ann: We’ll do that when you are feeling better.

cee: You will get more things than Naraya lah.. Naraya is just one small part of shopping!

WL: I think that is why a friend got the same skirt but different colors because of the wholesale thingy! Haha! I heard it’s like RM8 to RM12 per skirt only.

  8. zing Says:

Didn’t realise you can really SHOP!
When I was last there, didn’t get much though, only the Buy 1 Free 1 stuff from Boots! :)

  9. Gina Says:

zing: It’s quite fun to shop in BKK because it’s cheap.. and everything seemed pleasing to the eyes.. and you just want to have everything on the shelf. LOL!

  10. abbot Says:

    Anyway nice pictures.

  11. Gina Says:

abbot: Yeah.. it was always calm before storm right? LOL. The pic was taken when there was traffic light on the other side. So no cars passing by.. yet. Haha! Thanks for the compliment.
