Tomorrow will be a week, since I got mugged. I tell you, the feeling just won’t go away. Luckily, I managed to sleep now. Didn’t have any nightmares. On the contrary, yesterday, I dreamed that I was interviewing the Sultan – and he treated me like an old buddy! Haha!
On a better note, the government seemed to be really efficient in handling replacement of identity card and driving license. Didn’t want to risk going to government offices on Puasa month – shorter time duration and tired staff, I quickly went to replace my IC and license the next day. To my pleasant surprise, I spent less than 15 minutes each at JPN and JPJ. Good job! Went to Maxis to get my sim card replacement and waited almost 20 minutes. Worse, I have to pay RM10 for replacement, even if I bring a police report. The government didn’t charge me! Now we know, the difference between government and private companies!
All the banks that I have my credit cards with – EON (now Hong Leong!) and Maybank, both sent replacement on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. Was told to wait a week but then, only 2-3 working days? This is cool too! RHB on the other hand – I called up to block my atm card, only to be told, it was still active when I went to RHB to get replacement. I was flabbergasted. Further, they forced Debit Card down my throat! Who on earth would want to pay RM20 per year for a card which would only be used to transfer money? If my company does not use RHB to bank in my salary, I would have long time ago cancel my account! Then, I was told, since I was given a debit card earlier (I didn’t even ask for it) and I have yet to activate yet, the staff told me to go home and get my pre-approved debit card, activate it with the old atm pin and the old atm card would be cancelled automatically. Another perk is, pre-approved debit card would be given RM8 flat per year instead of RM20! So, it was actually a blessing in disguise that they didn’t cancel my atm at the first place!
When I hear this, I drove like mad woman to rush home to get my debit card and rushed to the bank again to activate my debit card. That was Friday. I got my phone on Friday night. Guess what? RHB only called me on Monday to ask if I would like to cancel my atm card – since it was stolen. OMG!!!! If I waited for them to call me back and tell me, they have yet to block my card on Thursday midnight itself – I will be fucked! Jesus! What kind of shit service is this? And they ask if I would like to cancel my debit card as well. What is wrong with these people? I just activated it on Friday and told them to cancel on Thursday – my atm card – they didn’t and now they want to cancel my just activated debit card? Mind boggling!
Well, I better not go into further details. I would vomit blood.
Anyway, after a few friends calling to check how I am, I am fine by the way, there were some friends too, offering unsolicited advice. Something like – “Aiyah! Why didn’t you shout louder?” “Why did you park behind your house since it’s so late? You should have parked your car inside!” “You can tackle the guy what since he’s smaller than you!”
Ya right. I don’t need such advice ok? What has happened, has happened. And I didn’t ask for it. Just say, I am just unlucky. Actually, I considered myself lucky because I wasn’t hurt! So, please, spare me your advice ok? Perhaps you can use them when you are in trouble like me. LOL! Choi! I know you guys meant well, but I don’t need to hear it! Thanks!

Things always happen for a reason. We are just thankful that there’s no bodily harm. Afterall, the Chinese always say po choi dong zhoi.

…’the feeling just won’t go away’ . It’s some form of post traumatic stress I guess… Time heals all …. Do take care … Glad the ‘replacement’ chores were smooth going… !

Thank you, friends. Hope to get the paranoia out as soon as possible.. I just heard that, my cousin brother’s ex housemates also encountered the same thing.
Since they are two boys – they fought off the thieves but one of the brothers got hit on the head by helmet. He’s ok though. Nothing was stolen from them.
